February 22, 2011…..
It is the first car show of the season in Minnesota: The World of Wheels at the River Centre in Saint Paul, MN. It may not be one of the best car shows of the year, but anytime you can go to a car show in February in Minnesota (especially when there is 3 feet of snow on the ground), that is a good thing!! As we go to car shows this year, I will try and update you on the things that Jerry and I see that we thought were interesting. As you can see from our Past and Current Projects, we should have a few treasures to drive to the shows and maybe even win something.

One of the nicer spring days that we have had for a car show. The “First Fifties” car club had a swap meet and car show at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. Did not find anything of interest at the swap meet, but I did see a couple of interesting cars. I had to post a picture of a 1957 Ford Fairlane, a nice looking car and I do not know why more people don’t collect them. I also saw a really nice 1960 Ford Starliner and a 1960 Chevrolet. The tailends of these cars have a lot of similarities. I tried taking some pictures with my cell phone and I have posted them.

June 4-5, 2011…..
Jerry was at 2 cars shows this weekend and the weather was beautiful: sunny and low 80’s temperatures. Saturday was Dam Days in Morristown, MN and Sunday was the All Ford Show at Apple Valley Ford in Apple Valley, MN. I have included a couple of pictures of cars we seen at Dam Days: a Cougar, and Firebird. But Sunday turned out to be pretty special as Jerry won a 1st Place Trophy for Best of Class with the 1966 Ford 7 Litre. In fact, he missed winning the Best of Show trophy by 2 votes!! I thought there was a nice Falcon convertible at Morristown (maroon with white top, see picture).
July 10, 2011….
Jerry was at the All Ford Show at Waconia Ford in Waconia, MN. He did not win a trophy today, but there was a few interesting cars. Check out the ’62 and ’58 Ford Galaxies. There were also a couple of nice Falcons and Cougars. I have attached a few pictures from the show. Enjoy!

Sept. 5, 2011…..
I have been negligent in posting our travels this summer. We were to a car show in Mounds View, MN a few weeks ago and Jerry won a Sponsor Trophy for best in his class with the 7 Litre. We were to another car show in Farmington, MN a couple of weeks ago: no trophies, but a lot of interest in the car! I will post pictures as soon as I get them. – Smitty, the Merc Man.
October 2, 2011….
We are at the Fall Swap Meet and Car Show at the MN State Fairgrounds this weekend. I have attached some of the interesting cars that we saw. Notice the 1970 Mustang Boss 302, the 1966 Mercury Marauder S55 (cool!), and the 1940 Ford pickup.
