1960 Ford Sunliner Convertible

We found this car in Tucson, AZ.  The story behind the car is it was bought brand new by a female college student. After college, she parked the car in a warehouse for ca. 40 years!  The car was bought by the previous owner about 5 years ago, who eventually decided he would not be able to finish the car.

The Sunliner comes equipped with a 352 2V V8 and a Ford Cruis-O-Matic transmission. Our plan is to mothball the 352 and install a 390 V8 Camper Special with a 4V intake. The car will be re-painted a dark charcoal color (keeping the black interior). We hope to have the projected completed by early summer 2014.

A VERY happy owner was revealed his car today! All smiles as he walked around this beautiful 1960 Ford Sunliner. (numerous times) He was amazed at the paint color and how it can look black then charcoal and sometimes has a greenish hue. He was impressed with the spoke wheels that at first he was not sure of, he said they fit the car perfectly. “Excellent choice!” After sitting in the Sunliner he was awed by the comfort and craftsmanship of the two tone microfiber leatherette seats and even more that whether top down or up he could see perfectly out the rear window. Overall he is “Ready for spring!” so he can get in this gorgeous machine and turn heads!
