June 11, 2012….
We have been to several shows this year already, but I have been tardy in updating the website. I apologize for that.
I made it to the Gopher State Timing Association show at the MN State Fairgrounds in April. It was the first show of the year, since the World of Wheels was cancelled for St. Paul, MN this year. The coolest thing I saw was a 1949 Chevrolet Deluxe Fastback! It was painted all black and the owner had turned it into a dragster using Brodix racing parts and roll bars. I do not know if I would have gone that far, but it was really a nice looking car. Sorry, I do not have any pictures, I did not bring a camera. I also saw a couple of 1930’s Ford coupes that actually had V8 flatheads in them (one of them was a blown flathead)!! It seems everyone usually puts a Chevy 350 V8 in their Ford coupes, which I do not like.
We were also at the 25th Annual Spring Extravaganza Buick Show at the MN State Fairground in May. Jerry brought the 7 Litre, but did not win anything. I did not think there were as many cars this year as last year. But it had rained the night before, so I suppose some folks stayed home.
More recently, Jerry attended the Drag-Ons Car Club show in Faribault, MN in May. He brought the 7 Litre, but did not place. I have attached a couple of pictures from the show.
A week ago, we went to the car show at Dam Days in Morristown, MN. I drove a client’s 1968 VW Bus (with permission to attend) and Jerry took the 7 Litre. I have also attached pictures from this show. And the same weekend, Jerry attended the Apple Valley All Ford show and took 2nd place in his class.
Jerry was at the Back to the 50’s car show at the MN State Fairgrounds on June 22 and June 23. He took his 1964 Mercury Marauder one day and his 1949 Ford the other day. There were a lot of cars at the show as usual. I thought one of the coolest and rarest cars was a red and white 1957 Ford Sunliner with a 312 Y-block tripower. This was a stock car and very rare (see pictures). We got many pictures and more than I can post!!
Kolacky Days – Montgomery, MN July 28, 2012: Jerry was at Kolacky days with the 7 Litre (1966 Ford) and won 2nd place. I have posted some pictures from the car show.
